About us
WHOLE is an audio-visual album, an ephemeral sensory experience crafted by the Visioners for Abortion Freedom.
The Visioners for Abortion Freedom is a collective of truth seekers and dream makers from reproductive justice leaders across the U.S. envisioning a WHOLE future that holds us all. The project is designed and facilitated by Alicia M. Walters, who is the creative director and lead content creator for W H O L E.
Together, we have crafted this gift for you, a small glimpse into the work that grounds us and seeds the possibility of a future where all are free, autonomous and connected. We have written a full vision and produced a visual album and an audio experience that bring our vision to life. We encourage you to join our rituals or create your own to make this vision real.
We invite you into this lineage of Visioners who chose in this moment to dream a world that centers Blackness, one full of love and liberation. This vision holds you in your fullness as keeper of your body. We paint communities of shared abundance. Imagine it with us.

Lead Facilitator + Abortion Freedom Design Team + Lead Author + Vocalist (Bodies, Relationships, Communities, Futures)
Alicia M. Walters is a philosopher, artist, writer, facilitator, and a culture creator who centers Blackness for individual and collective healing and transformation. She has been designing and facilitating the Abortion Freedom Visioning project, now called WholeFutures, since 2019—guiding reproductive justice Visioners in a restorative practice of dreaming the world we want. Alicia had the foresight to express that vision through the visual album, W H O L E. She is the lead author of the W H O L E vision, lead content creator and creative director of the W H O L E audio-visual experience. Alicia has spent fifteen years in social justice movements playing many roles -- organizer, policy advocate, strategic communicator, network-builder, community-based researcher, coach and consultant. Clients include ACLU, Essie Justice Group, MediaJustice, Race Forward, All* Above All, Forward Together, If/When/How, and numerous abortion funds among many others. Above all, Alicia creates things people can feel and experience. Her practice is now focused on facilitating transformative spaces that center Blackness for personal and collective liberation. When not dreaming and manifesting whole futures, Alicia creates sanctuaries for Black expression through the Black Thought Project, hastens cultural change as the Centering Blackness Fellow at the Insight Center, hosts retreats for folx who are ready to go deep, gardens, rollerskates, laughs, and enjoys time with her family and village.
